Day 17

Then I remember the reason for this fast and I start speaking to God and understanding that I rely on him, not food.

Slacker job of posting my daily menu
I apologize for not writing sooner and unfortunately, I forgot some of the meals that we ate so I will have to improvise.
I will say today is Day 8 and last week was different than the last two times that we have taken this adventure but the Devil still tempted us, none the less.
I got a headache for six out of eight days, which I was expecting, but I did not have the aches and pains.
As with every Daniel Fast that I have done, there is always FREE Food around during my Fast. Not just a Free cookie here and there, I mean FREE MEALS....
My boss took then entire office out for a meal at 42nd Street Oyster Bar, for FREE...Seriously FREE Lobster and Shrimp and Steak - Oh My. But I got a salad with OO and Vinegar, dry baked potato and dry veggies.
Then the next day Jimmy John's comes by our office with FREE Subs, really? I just sat back and laughed because I knew this was the Devil tempting us.
Every day last week it was my goal to get up early and do some sort of quiet time and exercise and every day last week, my youngest daughter woke up at least three times every night. I am trying to be strong but I didnt get up early any day last week to spend time with God - the Devil once again. I was able to spend quiet time with God but it just took a little moving around , on my part, so the Devil did not win.
I have a peace about me and pure contentment to see where God leads.

Veggie soup for dinner with brown rice ("No-Chicken" Broth*, tomatoes, garlic, sauteed onions, black beans, corn and green beans). This sat in the crock pot all day
*You have to be really careful when you look for broths because even vegetable broth has sugar or cane juice in it. Very surprising.

We are at it again....
We started the Daniel Fast this past Monday and since I have not posted my meals, this will be a long blog post.
I was expecting aches and pains and headaches this week. This is normally what my body will start the fast off with but not this time. I have had a headache every day but no body aches and pains.
The more times you fast, the easier the menu becomes because you know what you can and can't eat.
So here goes, Day 1 - Day 3.
Day 1:
Breakfast - smoothie with unsweetened soy milk, frozen fruit, bananas, spinach and oats
Snacks - apple and a banana
Lunch - Salad with mixed greens, mushrooms and apple pieces with homemade dijon vinagrette
Dinner - Corn Tortilla Pizzas (corn tortillas with marinara sauce, mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes and cheese)
*****the sauce has to be made with no sugar products or preservatives and the cheese we use is Daiya cheese because it is vegan and has no can syrup. We shop at Whole Foods during the fast because we are unable to find alot of products that fit the requirements anywhere else.
Day 2:
Breakfast - Same smoothie as Day 1
Snacks - apple and banana
Lunch - Wraps (whole wheat tortillas, wasabi hummus, tomatoes and spinach)
Dinner - Salad with olive oil and vinegar dressing, steamed plain veggies and a plain baked potato
Day 3:
Breakfast - smoothie
Snacks - apple and banana
Lunch - brown rice, black beans and salsa
Dinner - corn tortilla pizzas
