High Fructose Corn Syrup

I have a question for everyone: What is your opinion of High Fructose Corn Syrup?
Do you have any stories of how decreasing HFCS has changed your health?

Corn Syrup

So my parents think that I am crazy for buying organic or all natural. I think they understand but they still cant get through the mindset that it can't possibly taste good, which is clearly the opposite.
I do not buy my daugther anything with high fructose corn syrup. I feel that she will get enough of that out in public or in other's houses so I attempt to protect her as much as I can at home. We were having a tougher financial week so I went shopping at a national supermarket with all the name brand processed foods. I decided to buy her some fruit snacks and was on the phone with my Mom while I was reading the ingredients. I said well it has corn syrup but no high fructose corn syrup so it is the best that I can do for this week's budget. My Mom asks me why corn syrup (not HFCS) but regular corn syrup is bad. She advised me that it is squeezed directly from corn. WOW-maybe back when she was growing up but not now. I went to a jar of corn syrup and looked at the ingredients: corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup...etc....I guess my point is the way that foods have changed over the years and how things have become so processed right under our noses..

Introduction

I started hearing the word "organic" about 8 years ago. I was going to the gym every day and was a very healthy eater (so I thought). I thought I knew what "organic" meant but I also thought it to be too expensive so I never bought anything organic. A couple of years later, I tried to get my husband to start eating/buying organic but he thought the same thing at that time so I lost that battle.
He happened to read "The Weight Loss Cure" by Kevin Trudeau and he had an "AH HA" moment. Then he finally decided that we were going to start eating/buying more organic foods. This started in 2008 when I was pregnant with my 1st child. It has been an eye-opening ride ever since that time.
The things that I have learned since that time is amazing. I have set out to show (I am not certified, so I cant say "educate" officially)others what America thinks is healthy may or may not be healthy at all. You can really only trust non-processed foods.
